The goal is to help students develop their voices as artists while gaining the practical skills, confidence and discipline necessary to turn creative ideas into finished work.
After spending over a decade as a graphic designer working for companies like Honda, Intuit, WebMD and CarsDirect, J. entered the music industry, co-running the independent label Rebelution Records and producing music for several artists.
After years in design and music, J. put their film degree to use and transitioned into the film industry. They worked with companies including FX, 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures Television, Showtime, ABC and MTV.
Today, J. teaches Film Production, Graphic Design and Branding at The Los Angeles School of Global Studies and the Miguel Contreras School of Social Justice, and leads the school’s Film and Music clubs.
